Now that Halloween has ended, it’s time for Christmas. But that doesn’t mean the blood has to stop shedding.
Shudder just released the trailer for their upcoming holiday horror movie called Christmas Bloody Christmas which will premiere on December 9.
Directed by Joe Begos, this sci-fi slasher is one part Silent Night, Deadly Night, one part Wally’s Wonderland, and maybe a pinch of Upgrade.
Begos other noteworthy works are the underrated 2013 alien abduction horror film Almost Human and the 2019 splatterfest VFW.
At first glance, Christmas Bloody Christmas doesn’t look like Begos is going to skimp on the bloodshed, and with the lighting choices being exuberant greens and reds, this seems like a great present for watchers basking in the spirit of yule tide, or gruel-tide as it were.
The film stars Riley Dandy (That’s Amor, The City of Gold), Sam Delich (Spiderhead), Jonah Ray Rodrigues (Mystery Science Theater 3000), Dora Madison (Everybody Wants Some, “Chicago Fire”), Jeremy Gardner (Offseason), with Jeff Daniel Phillips (3 From Hell), and Abraham Benrubi (The Call of the Wild).
In Christmas Bloody Christmas, it’s Christmas Eve, and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms just wants to get drunk and party, until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon-drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal, and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood-splattered battle for survival against the ruthless heavy metal Saint Nick himself.
