The Stephen King-inspired dance number left some gore on the dance floor.
To be honest, we don’t usually check in with the ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars. Sure, we’ll watch it with Mom on long weekends, but it’s not generally our sort of thing. That’s changed this week when Jojo Siwa performed as Pennywise in a Halloween routine inspired by Stephen King’s IT.
Jojo Siwa and dance partner Jenna Johnson played Pennywise and Georgie, respectfully. And it was a routine for the history books. Not only were the looks on point, but the dance routine impressed the judges so much it earned the team a rare perfect score.
The first same-sex couple in franchise history danced to a super creepy cover of Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” for a traditional jazz number. The dance even recreated the iconic and terrifying first kill from the New Line’s 2017 IT adaptation. That’s right, arm amputation included.

The IT-inspired dance was definitely the most noteworthy moment of the Horror Night episode. That said, there were other cool references to watch out for! Other routines referenced iconic horror movies like A Quiet Place, American Psycho, and Us.
You’ll know Jojo Siwa as the hella famous YouTube personality who has legions of fans under the age of 14. Siwa got her start as a standout on another popular reality show, Dance Moms. She became synonymous with high ponys, rainbows, bright colors and a brighter personality. She’s also a trailblazer who recently came out, helping to normalize queer culture among her young fanbase. Jojo Siwa and Jenna Johnson continue to push boundaries by being the first-ever same-sex couple on the show.
Lastly, you can check out the full video and feel free to watch the whole thing on Hulu if it’s your sort of thing. Brand new episodes of Dancing With the Stars take place Monday nights on ABC.
