By sword, by pick, by axe, by sequel.
If you’re a horror fan of a certain age, you’ll be familiar with The Mutilator. This 1984 underrated slasher sports one of the most infamous VHS covers in the history of B-horror. There have been two commonly used posters for The Mutilator over the years. They are both crude depictions of a mostly nude woman hanging up on the wall next to her dead friends. It’s gritty, it’s gross, it’s wrong and it’s a whole lot more salacious than anything in the movie itself.
Now it’s 2021 and Mad Monster reports that the arguable classic is getting a direct sequel titled Mutilator 2. Original creator Buddy Cooper will write and direct the follow-up which stars Terry Kiser (Friday the 13th Part VII, From a Whisper to a Scream) and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Haunt). Legacy cast Ruth Martinez and Bill Hitchcock are also reportedly signed on for the sequel which is set to start filming next year.
