The price of the sold comic book was less than the record of $ 3.6 million set in 2014 for the sale of work about Spider-Man. The first issue was titled “Captain America. No. 1,” which was published in 1941 and sold for 10 cents. The theme of the Second World War appears in work – on the cover, the protagonist fights with Adolf Hitler.

Debut issues of Marvel comics that have been auctioned in the last ten years are quite popular among collectors. For example, the Superman graphic novel went off the market for $3.2 million in 2014, and the Batman graphic novel went for $2.2 million in 2021. It was also previously reported that one page of the Spider-Man comic was sold at Heritage Auctions for $3.36 million.
