Kylie Jenner shocked the internet earlier this week when the reality star revealed that she and Travis Scott decided to change their son’s name from Wolf Webster. “FYI our sons name isn’t Wolf anymore ,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “We just really didn’t feel like it was him. Just wanted to share because I keep seeing Wolf everywhere ”
Jenner didn’t reveal her baby’s new name or if his middle name, Jacques, after father Travis Scott’s real name, was being changed. Now, multiple sources have spoken to People about the name change decision and when Jenner will make her son’s new name public.
She’s in no rush, one source said. “[She will] share his name when she’s ready.”
A second source added, “Kylie and Travis liked Wolf, but after getting to know their son, they felt like the name didn’t fit him. They wanted to choose the perfect name that they both loved.”
Buzzfeed speculated the name change may have been sparked by Jenner not wanting her son to have the same name of her former close friend Tammy Hembrow’s child since the two had a falling out. (Hembrow has a six-year-old son named Wolf.) Jenner never publicly indicated this was the reasoning or commented on the reports about it.
Jenner’s social media presence has been limited in the weeks leading up to and after her son’s birth on February 2, 2022. However, Jenner did receive praise for sharing a candid look at her postpartum body in a new photo of her with her son this week.
