Kevin Morby provided the music for Scott McGehee and David Siegel’s film Montana Story—a Western starring Haley Lu Richardson and Owen Teague as siblings who return home to their family’s Montana ranch after their father goes into a coma. Today, Morby has released his soundtrack for the movie. Find Music From Montana Story, along with the music video for the album-closing track, “Like a Flower,” below.
“It has long been a dream of mine to one day score a film, and, with Montana Story, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect film to do so,” Morby remarked in a press release. “Against wide open landscapes, the film is patiently and masterfully captured, and it was my job, alongside my collaborator Rob Barbato, to write a score with as much beauty and depth as the film itself. I’m so proud of how everything turned out and am forever grateful to directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel for bringing me on.”
Music From Montana Story follows Morby’s 2022 studio album, This Is a Photograph. He’s continuing to tour in support of the projects, and you can find his upcoming schedule below.
