What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write In Love With My Djinn?
My favorite show growing up was I Dream Of Jeanie. I wanted to spin the genre around and create a male genie who is super hot and hysterically funny as he adapts to modern life.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of In Love With My Djinn, what would they be?
Genie In A Bottle-Christina Aguilera.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I read and write a lot of genres. The thing that all of my books have in common is my quirky sense of humor and hot book boyfriends. I write Steamy Contemporary Romance, Steamy Historical Romance, RomCom, Romantic/paranormal Mysteries, Women’s Fiction, and Dark Thrillers.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
The Lady Sherlock Series by Sherry Thomas. Fortune and Glory by Janet Evanovich.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The male strip club scene in Grandma Nancy’s hotel room.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I turn on old sit coms and turn the volume off, so they play in the background.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
I strive to be kind to everyone.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
I want readers to feel like they just read a book that made them feel warm and fuzzy. I want them to laugh and forget about their problems while they are in the pages with Fazil and Regina.
