Tokyo, Japan is the place to be at the moment, and not just became the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs are in town to kick off the 2025 MLB Season with the Tokyo Series. Jack White is also playing a pair of shows in the city over the weekend.
As an avid baseball fan, White no doubt lined up those gigs so that he could attend the Tokyo Series. It appears fellow rock legend and Chicago Cubs super fan Eddie Vedder made similar travel plans, as he, too, is in Tokyo and happened to make a surprise appearance during White’s concert on Saturday. Together, the two teamed up for a rip-roaring cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World’,” a staple of Pearl Jam’s live show that White himself also recently played at SNL50.
White’s “No Name Tour” officially kicks off its a North American leg beginning in early April and runs through the end of May. Don’t forget that if you’re a student, you can score discounted tickets at the door.
