Kelsey Parker, Tom Parkers, the Wanted’s partner, produced a sincere video on the subject of learning thankfulness after a considerable loss. Kelsey in her video encourages people to keep strong their bonds and also to take joy in imperfect moments of life.

Time doesn’t stop even if you cannot interact with it. Kelsey Parker is the one that has this perception more than anybody else. Her loss of husband Tom Parker in 2022 due to cancer was the reason to share her most powerful and relatable thought about grief in the video. Grief was not the main subject of her message but the longing for what has gone was the intense battle of what is left.

Parker in the movie admits, ‘If you have suffered loss then it is going to change your perspective on all things’, followed by a quick self-conscious laugh indicating she has noticed her very dark eyebrows. She goes on to talk about how each birthday, each holiday is, so to speak, a burden of memory. ‘Life, the way it is, keeps going and grief is no reason to slow down, nor the fact that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. This is the same with the fact that we are not guaranteed tomorrow.’ Her parting words are an order that only experience can impart: live with the essential and enjoy it while it is not too long and sweet for the trivial.

The main point of her arguments is both simple and deep. A perfect life is not the only occasion for celebration. ‘We are rejoicing because love is still present, because the connection is still there,’ she explains. ‘Choosing togetherness in a world that seems so divided, heavy and shit is an act of hope which sometimes is more than enough.’ She also wrote a note asking people to tag someone they are thankful for, thus turning her private reflection into a community moment.

The feedback was an avalanche of collective gratitude and personal triumphs. One of the participants shared the enthusiasm of founding a new company, which is also a feeling that Parker immediately connected with her in a comment. Another one talked about having a close-knit family and expressed it like this: ‘I am proud of my two handsome and successful sons, I pray for their wonderful and blessed future.’ This was a strong affirmation of Parker’s notion of celebrating non-perfect yet ongoing journeys.

One more comment was there that was completely different from the rest. It was a funny remark, a user just said ‘Really random but I think you look like Sydney Sweeney.’ The witty response from Parker, no different from the usual, was that she usually heard that about her and would say ‘yes I have been told that .. I will take that.’ It’s a brief but insightful communication, illustrating the permanent presence of deep thought and also of daily social interaction, which are the trademarks of her online profile.

The message from Parker has a heavy burden that is still very much present during her public mourning process. The widow has been quite honest about how hard it was to cope with the death of her husband and at the same time raising their two small children after his death, she has been active in creating awareness about brain cancer, and this story of hers is a different voice—a shout-out to the everyday intentional finding of joy and connection amidst mourning. It is a view that undoubtedly resonates, turning her personal story into a place of public recognition of both loss and gratitude.

In the end, Kelsey Parker’s thought of the day is not so much a moral as a soft reminder from someone who is in the same boat. Mourning changes the landscape but the new one still has togetherness moments—the laughter around the table, just tagging a loved one—nothing more than small comfort. They are, as she claims, the very essence. It is not that we forget the loved one that has passed on, but rather that we hold the love that remains even tighter, which is a tribute to love. Her hilarious girls trip video shows another side of her resilience. She has also been open about her heartbreaking pregnancy loss and healing journey. The recent addition of a new puppy has brought comfort after tragedy. Furthermore, she has shared a powerful message about the strength in being quiet.
