Ariana Grande has launched a new foundation to fund organizations working with vulnerable communities in the wake of the White House using her music without permission in a video promoting ICE.
Grande’s newly created The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation to help fund organizations supporting immigrant family needs, LGBTQ+ causes, mental healthcare, civil and reproductive rights, and community-emergency response. Her new foundation will focus on four categories of support; “Protect & Defend” to fund groups that advocate for LGBTQ+ and civil rights, and reproductive justice; “Heal & Dream” to fund access to mental healthcare and community support; “Seen & Celebrate” to fund organizations that promote LGBTQ+ voices and stories; “Emergency Support” to fund urgent needs and moments for communities.

“I am beyond excited to finally announce the brighter days ahead foundation,” Grande said in a statement. “Our mission is to support, protect, and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need. Through four different funds, we will be supporting handfuls of incredible organizations that provide the safe space and care that is desperately needed by so many right now. It has been my privilege to be able to support these causes on my own over the years, and I’m grateful to now be able to expand that reach and amplify the life-saving work that these organizations do through the brighter days ahead foundation.”

Thursday, the White House put out a TikTok video depicting ICE agents detaining immigrants that used Grande’s 2024 song “Bye” with the caption “Bye-bye . . . President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.” Grande responded to the video with a comment that said “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” ending it with “fuck ice.” Grande’s comment appears to have been taken down as of Saturday. A source close to the pop superstar’s team told Reuters they were looking into how to have the music removed, and within hours the song no longer played on the video.
