Chloë’s dress at the 2022 Met Gala on Monday is proof that sometimes the sequel is even better than the original. After attending last year’s gala alongside her sister, Halle Bailey, in matching Rodarte looks, Chloë walked the Met Gala red carpet solo in a plunging Area gown taken straight from the designer’s couture spring/summer 2022 collection. Chloë’s opulent ensemble featured a fitted bustier with asymmetrical cups and a sculpted skirt with exaggerated hip accents and a thigh-high slit. “i’m golden,” she captioned photos of the shimmering gold dress on Instagram.
Even though Chloë walked the red carpet by herself this year, her bespoke dress was adorned with enough sparkles to light up the entire event on her own. The “Treat Me” singer styled the look with a gilded feather choker reminiscent of the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter, matching rings, and a pair of peep-toe heels. Chloë kept her makeup soft and minimalist and opted to wear her hair in braids tied into a sleek ponytail that cascaded down her back.
Just one week before the gala, Chloë tried the “emo girl” trend in a Burberry dress and matching baseball cap at Burberry and Riccardo Tisci’s Lola bag event in Los Angeles.
