Christy Carlson Romano Shot in Face at Clay Pigeons Range

Christy Carlson Romano was shot in the eye at a clay pigeons range while celebrating her husband’s birthday on Friday.

In an Instagram post, the 40-year-old actress, known for her roles in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens and Kim Possible, said she was “hit in 5 places, one was less than an inch from hitting me directly in my right eye” by another party who “unsafely fired in the wrong direction.” One of the bullet fragments remains lodged in her forehead and is “is too risky to remove surgically at this time,” she explained.

“With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive,” Romano added. “I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much. I saw my life flash before my eyes and I’m telling you, hug the people around you every chance you can. Life can change in an instant.”
