Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer has exited the band after a nearly 19-year run. It is unknown who will fill the drum stool when the Axl Rose-led group returns to the live stage for an extensive international tour beginning May 1 in Incheon, Korea. The decision is said to be amicable.
In a statement, Guns N’ Roses called Ferrer, 58, “the longest-serving drummer in their storied run. The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

Ferrer replaced drummer Bryan “Brain” Mantia in GNR in June 2006, long before Rose reunited for a series of tours with long-departed original members Slash and Duff McKagan. He also contributed to the band’s maligned 2008 album Chinese Democracy, on which Rose worked for more than a decade.
His final performance with GNR was on Nov. 5, 2023 in Mexico. His actual drum sticks were utilized to make a ball ramp in the GNR-branded Not in This Lifetime pinball machine, which was released in 2020.
Prior to GNR, Ferrer played with the Beautiful, the Psychedelic Furs and Love Spit Love. He’s also appeared on recordings by Tool, PJ Harvey, former GNR bassist Tommy Stinson and Neil Young.
