Gwyneth Paltrow made sure her ex-husband, Chris Martin, felt special on his birthday.
The actress posted two photos of Martin with their children — Apple, 20, and Moses, 18 — via Instagram on Sunday, March 2, in celebration of his 48th birthday.
“Happy Birthday to the man that gave me these beautiful, wonderful human beings, we💚you, Chris,” Paltrow, 52, shared.
In one picture, Martin poses head-to-head with Apple, who has her hand resting under her chin. In another, he sits next to Moses at a piano.

The Coldplay frontman was married to Paltrow from 2003 until their “conscious uncoupling” in 2014. He is now engaged to actress Dakota Johnson, while Paltrow is married to producer Brad Falchuk. Yet, the exes remain close friends.
“Chris couldn’t feel more grateful that he and Gwyneth have managed their coparenting relationship so seamlessly,” an insider told Us Weekly of the exes in December 2023.
Martin is “thankful” that he and Paltrow have “focused on putting their children first despite things not having worked out between them,” the source added.
Paltrow told the Evening Standard in January 2019 that she wanted their divorce to have a positive outcome for herself, Martin and their children.
“Family structure can be reinvented and divorce doesn’t have to be devastating,” Paltrow said at the time. “It doesn’t have to be the end of your relationship with somebody. I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids. But our relationship is much better like this: friends and coparents and family.”
She added in a September 2022 interview with CBS Sunday Morning that they will always be close.
“He’s completely my family, and I love him,” she gushed of her former spouse. “And he would do anything for me. I would do anything for him. He would do anything for our kids. We really did commit to wanting our children to be as unscathed by the divorce as possible.”
For his part, Martin told radio show “Valentine in the Morning” in 2014 that he and Paltrow are “very close.”
“There’s a lot of love,” he said. “There’s no scandal.”
The former couple have previously vacationed together and, last November, Martin and Paltrow reunited to support Apple’s society debut at the Le Bal des Débutantes ball in Paris.
The Goop founder shared several photos via Instagram from the big night, where their daughter looked glamorous in a custom blue Valentino dress that reportedly took 750 hours to make, per Vogue.
Paltrow wore a black and white frilly Valentino frock for the occasion while Martin sported a black Valentino suit and looked happy posing next to his ex mother-in-law, Blythe Danner.
“A special long weekend in Paris 💙,” Paltrow captioned her Instagram post.
