Has ABC canceled Shifting Gears or renewed it for Season 3?
ABC has neither renewed nor canceled Shifting Gears Season 3.
Typically, the series renewal depends on multiple factors, including audience reception, viewership, financial viability, ratings, and others. If the series manages to tick the desired boxes, its renewal is likely. It was reported that the latest season garnered 7.57 million total viewers and a 1.17 rating among adults 18–49, after a week of streaming on various platforms. These statistics indicated that the numbers tripled from the broadcast night.
Additionally, in conversation with Urban Hollywood, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, who plays Stitch, revealed that he was asked to “leave his stuff in his dressing room.” This indicates the possibility of another season happening.
In another interview with CinemaBlend, he also asked the interviewer not to bring up the season renewal, as his response is tied to his well-known recurring prank.
He said, “Let me tell you, I’m the worst when it comes to this, because every wrap party, I always announce we got picked up when we didn’t get picked up…I did it again this year. I was like, ‘The streets get everything first. The word on the street, we got picked up for season 3. ’ Everybody’s like, ‘All right!’ I ain’t heard nothing. I do that every season, so I ain’t gonna stop doing it.” Leaving the prank aside, Mitchell also clarified that he had no idea about another season renewal.
Till an update on its renewal is shared, fans can catch up on Shifting Gears Season 1 and 2 on Hulu and Disney+.
