That’s a wrap on ‘The Munsters’!
It’s official. Rob Zombie’s The Munsters has wrapped production in Budapest. Work started on the film in Europe last summer, and while no release date has been set, we expect the movie to arrive before the year is up. Could a Halloween digital release be in store? Seems possible.
To commemorate the wrapping of production, Zombie has shared a brand new gallery of crisp behind-the-scene images over his Instagram account. Check them out below.
The new carousel of colorful pictures features Rob Zombie, Sherri Moon Zombie, Daniel Roebuck and Jeff Daniel Phillips having a blast together on set in Budapest. We’re privy to high-definition images of the cast in new costumes and even one final goodbye to 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
A complete recreation of Mockingbird Lane was constructed for The Munsters, and it seems like it’s being left behind intact. “Thanks Budapest, you’ve been great. Enjoy your new Mockingbird Lane”, writes Zombie in his Instagram status.

Back in the 1980s, the Munster clan resurfaced as The Munsters Today—the longest-running series in the property’s history. In 2012 NBC gave a reboot a try with Bryan Fuller at the helm. While the pilot for Mockingbird Lane has its fans, it wasn’t enough for the network to push the iteration forward as a series.
Lastly, there’s still no word if The Munsters will head to theaters, or if it’ll be exclusive through an online streamer sometime this year.
