We all love disturbing movies. However, every year sees an endless onslaught of new horror movies, making it harder to catch them all than Pokemon. So many fly under the radars that they become easy to miss out. Luckily, TikTok has made it easier to find people we align with who will also give us good recommendations.
One of our favorite TikTok personalities, Allie Tran (@chronicallyscary), has done the Lord’s work of finding us some of the most disturbing movies currently streaming.
Speak No Evil (2022)
Where You Can Watch: Shudder
A family accepts the invitation to stay with another family on holiday. They soon regret this choice as they discover the hosts might have sinister ulterior motives. This movie had a Twitter moment, so I’m not surprised it’s on the list. A lot of people talk about how disturbing this scenario here is, and how uncomfortable they felt while watching. It is a very slow burn in a tense situation that delves into the politics of being nice. This film struck a nerve with a lot of people, and they swear it’s one of the most disturbing movies they have ever seen. How do you feel?

The Sadness (2021)
Where You Can Watch: Shudder
A couple tries to make their way back to each other during an outbreak that turns people into hyper-sexual bloodthirsty deviants. This movie definitely belongs on the list and has a lot of great qualities. There are old ladies wrecking bodegas, bloody orgies where people are holding onto entrails, and so many more WTF moments that will leave long-lasting emotional scars. However, the fun heads to the backburner around the mid-point and requires so many content warnings for various forms of sexual assault that follow.
Tusk (2014)
Where You Can Watch: HBOMax
Justin Long plays an unlikable podcaster that finds himself in a very unusual predicament when he flies to Canada to interview a walrus-loving old man. This movie messed us up on a spiritual level. It also cemented in my mind that Justin Long is aiming for the king of horror title. This movie is why I had to start asking questions when people say a movie may contain some body horror. I thought I was metal, but I was wrong. I never need to see a man turned into a walrus again in my life. Please, for the love of all that is horror, no more!

Woof. Allie does sure seem to have an eye for the sickest and most disturbing films out there. Which is why her following is a great choice. Allie is here to make lasting memories, only if it leads to nightmares and anxiety. A queen if there ever was one.
