J Lo’s Baggy Cargo Pants Are Such a Throwback, They

Jennifer Lopez is not one to shy away from ’90s and 2000s trends that have recently seen a resurgence in popularity. The 53-year-old multihyphenate was spotted in Los Angeles on the way to her studio in a pair of wide-leg denim cargo pants that fit the bill, mixing in seamlessly with the rest of her typically nostalgic off-duty wardrobe. Lopez’s pants came in a chambray material, making for a more free-flowing, movable silhouette, and were equipped with a drawstring at the waistband, oversize pockets, and taper at the ankle. This allowed for a better peek at her white leather combat boots, yet another nod to the ’90s. Her cropped turtleneck sweater, oversize hoops, and translucent aviators were also on theme, and Lopez further accessorized with her green-stone engagement ring and wedding band stack, plus a Dior canvas tote with her name emblazoned across the front. Her hair was tied back into a slick ponytail, and she opted for a light-pink lip that matched her manicure.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen Lopez in baggy styles. The star wore paper-bag pants with an elastic tie while out with Ben Affleck in March 2022, and then she visited her husband on set months later in ultraswingy white Et Ochs jeans. Though her latest example can be considered even more polarizing, what with the contrast stitching and exaggerated bubble hem, she pulls off the denim with her signature confident flair.

Most recently, Lopez sported an ultracropped tee that bared sight of underboob to reveal her new ink for Affleck on Instagram, and she shared a sneak peek of her latest Intimissimi campaign in turquoise lingerie.
