Jason Blum Watched ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ and Has Good Things

Now that the summer heat is forcing us all indoors for the season, we need to add some horror flicks to our streaming lineup. Luckily, you have iHorror to round up all of the films for you. Below are all of the horror films coming to streaming platforms this week.

Cabin Girl Streaming July 12th On Tubi

Live streamers have an interesting relationship with the world. They have the potential to make an insane amount of money. Yet, most people don’t seem to have a very high opinion of the profession.

It’s anyone’s guess whether the canned facial responses or the repeated instructions to smash that like button have created a Pavlovian response of hatred. What I can say is that it has created a fun sub-genre of influencer horror.

Cabin Girl is a Tubi original that aims to take on this emerging sub-genre. This partially found footage entry looks to add a more suspenseful entry to what has been primarily a horror comedy genre. Cabin Girl will be streaming on July 12th exclusively on Tubi.

Bird Box Barcelona Streaming July 14 On Netflix

What’s worse than a mysterious entity that forces those that see it to kill themselves? Well, a cult that idolizes these monsters probably wouldn’t help. The highly anticipated spin-off, Bird Box Barcelona, revolves around this premise.

Netflix went all out on the casting for this one. This film stars Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), Mario Casas (The Bar), and Diego Calva (Babylon). And is co-written by Josh Malerman (Bird Box), David Pastor (Carriers), and Àlex Pastor (The Last Days).

This film is one of the most anticipated streaming films of the summer. Whether Netflix will achieve the same success without a book as a launching point is yet to be determined. Bird Box Barcelona will be streaming exclusively on Netflix on July 14th.

The Flood Coming to VOD July 14th

The Flood Movie Poster

Alright, it’s time for some genre mashups. The flood throws so many themes at us in this trailer I think I may have whiplash. But since climate change is coming for us all, this may as well be considered learning material.

We have unprecedented storms, convicts sheltered in a small town, a jailbreak, and for some reason, this whole scenario involves massive alligators. In all honesty, the film looks fantastic.

Lionsgate is bringing us The Flood. Which I can only hope means that we will see a resurgence in big-budget animal horror flicks. The Flood will be streaming on Video on Demand services on July 14th.

Quicksand Streaming July 14th On Shudder

Quicksand Movie Poster

Here is one for all the kids that grew up thinking that quicksand was going to be a much bigger problem than it was. The film asks a simple question; how long could you survive in a quicksand pit?

This devilishly simple premise is brought to us by Matt Pitts (Cloverfield). The film stars Andrés Castañeda (Love in the Time of Cholera), Sebastian Eslava (Pablo), and Carolina Gaitan (Encanto).

The trailer for this film leads us to believe that the plot will extend past its simple premise. Even if that isn’t the case, people terrified of being buried alive should be in for a treat. Quicksand will stream exclusively on Shudder on July 14th.
