Guitar virtuosos Joe Satriani and Steve Vai are taking their new outfit SATCHVAI Band on a 2026 North American tour. The spring outing features support from the acclaimed instrumental prog-metal band Animals As Leaders.
The 40-date “Surfing with the Hydra” tour kicks off April 1st in Seattle, and runs through a May 30th show in Vienna, Virginia, hitting Las Vegas, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, New York City, and other markets along the way.

A Live Nation pre-sale for most shows starts Thursday, December 11th, at 10 a.m. local time for Live Nation All Access members, while a general on-sale begins Friday, December 12th, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Satriani and Vai, who both made Consequence‘s list of the 100 Best Guitarists of All Time, announced the formation of the SATCHVAI Band in late 2024, and embarked on UK/European tour in 2025. The upcoming 2026 run will mark the first stateside trek by the SATCHVAI Band, which is rounded out by renowned musicians Kenny Aronoff (drums), Marco Mendoza (bass), and Pete Thorn (guitar).

We can’t wait to play you the new material from our forthcoming Satch/Vai album along with your favorite songs from our shared catalog. Steve Vai added, “The SATCHVAI Band summer Euro tour of 2025 far exceeded anything I could have imagined. Joe and I struck pure jammin’ gold night after night. Being in the same band with Joe, playing songs we actually wrote together on stage, in real time felt like watching a childhood fantasy step out of my teenage brain and stroll onto the stage. And somehow, it was even more rewarding, satisfying, and downright fulfilling than I ever thought possible.”
As Satriani mentioned, a full-length album is on the way in 2026, while a press release notes that the single “Dancing ” will arrive on March 2nd.
