Lance’s fans did not wait long to respond and their reactions were very positive. One of the fans even bravely told Bass, “You’re the Halloween King, Lance! I’m here for this! Would you watch a Horror movie with me?” Many did the same and thus their voices united in saying that Bass is just the one who should be credited with the Halloween spirit. The third person even went to fear by remarking, “I’m a wuss so count me out but costumes and reading Trick or Treat on Scary Street with my kiddo while eating all the candy? Count me in!” This comment acknowledges the hard-core and the soft horror lovers but also brings to the fore the issue of family ties through Halloween.
A few users pointed out minute yet scary details of the Halloween decor while commenting. One user was a bit frightened, and he said, “My God, I almost died of scare with that baby spider head.” “The doll you are holding is so scary” was another comment referring to the horror effect Bass is creating with his props. A user who said, “lance doesn’t do Halloween… he conjures it,” perfectly summed up the extent of his commitment. The phrase beautifully portrays how Bass, in a way, takes the Halloween experience from mere participation to the point of full-scale creation.
The communication not only indicated a feeling of togetherness but also a common tradition among his fans. A fan, all excited, tagged someone saying, “we have the same decoration as my favorite member of NSync! I can die happy!!!” This somewhat pictures the connection that Bass’s individual likes create among his fans. One other questioned if their custom would continue this year, “Are we gonna get another reading aloud vid for scary street this year,” highlighting that his Halloween activities have now become a much-loved and expected rite.
Moreover, it was not only the tricks and chills that made the post attractive. One person even wrote, “oh this made my morning. been sick with bronchitis/pneumonia the last week. back in the er cause I’m still wheezing. thank you for making me smile.” This comment indicates the impressive power of the cheerful post, which can lighten up a little during difficult times. Another fan simply corroborated the happiness about the season by saying, “Halloween is my favorite time of the year,” which indeed applies to Bass and his fans as well.
