Black Bear Television, the TV division of Black Bear Pictures, has acquired the film rights for Local Woman Missing in advance of the release of the book. Black Bear Pictures has previously produced movies such as The Imitation Game and Mudbound.
Author Mary Kubica will serve as an executive producer for the series adaptation.
