The first new Gundam television anime series in seven years is set to release later this year, as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury will premiere in October.

According to a recent announcement from the MBS/TBS network in Japan, the series will begin airing in October. You can check out the brief mention of the series below, courtesy of MBS/TBS’ montage of upcoming anime:
Initially announced in September 2021, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is set to be the first brand-new television anime series for the iconic brand since the Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans anime.
It’s currently unclear exactly what the new anime will be about or feature, but Koji Fujiwara, the Chief Gundam Officer at Bandai Namco Entertainment, did note last year that the company is “making bigger developments than before” and looking to create something that even younger generations can enjoy (via Anime News Network).

Thankfully for fans who are looking forward to more Gundam, they won’t have to wait too long. With an October release date planned, more information on the series should be coming to light soon.
