During Friday’s Disney+ Day, Disney announced that they would be producing a brand-new, live-action series based on The Spiderwick Chronicles series of books. To celebrate the news, a batch of concept art for the series was released.

The series will be based on the fan-favorite best-selling books, which follow the Grace Family as they move into their run-down ancestral home. Once they settle in, though, they begin to unravel a mystery about their family that introduces them to an entirely new world. Not too much else was shared about the series, so it’s unknown just who will be in it or when production on the series will start. You can check out the concept art for the series below:
“The series, based on the beloved, best-selling books, follows the Grace Family—twin brothers Jared and Simon, their sister Mallory and mother Helen—as they move into their dilapidated ancestral home,” reads an official synopsis for the series. “They begin to unravel a dark mystery about their great-great Uncle who once discovered the secret and sometimes dangerous faerie world.”

This isn’t the first time that The Spiderwick Chronicles have been adapted. In 2008, a film based on the first book in the series was released, starring Freddie Highmore, Sarah Bolger, Mary-Louise Parker, Seth Rogen, Martin Short, and Nick Nolte. A sequel was never made, though, so Disney hopes to have a bit more luck with their take on the series whenever it does release.
