Armand Hammer have announced that their new album, We Buy Diabetic Test Strips, will drop on September 29th via Fat Possum Records. The New York hip-hop duo comprised of rappers billy woods and ELUCID has also shared upcoming fall/winter tour dates and the lead single “Trauma Mic,” featuring Pink Siifu.
We Buy Diabetic Test Strips will be the duo’s first album since their Alchemist collaboration Haram, one of the best albums of 2021. With 15 tracks, the new LP is set to feature appearances from Moor Mother, Soul Glo’s Pierce Jordan, Pink Siifu, Junglepussy, and more. See the artwork and tracklist below; pre-orders are ongoing.
In a statement, ELUCID described the recording process as “this sort of reverse engineering of talented players who met for the first time in the studio jamming to pre-recorded beats before splintering off into new directions. Being in the room quietly watching 4 people fumble around each other’s sonic worlds before finally locking into a solid groove was a clear and obvious magical moment for me.”
Following the album’s release, Armand Hammer will head out on a tour of North America, the UK, and Europe. It kicks off on October 1st in Kingston, New York ahead of dates in cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, and Austin. Then, they’ll head across the pond for shows in London, Berlin, Paris, and more before returning to North America for stops in New York City; Washington, DC; Toronto; Chicago; Atlanta; and more. See the full itinerary below.

Produced by DJ Haram, “Trauma Mic” is described by the group as “a neodymium magnet cascading down a mountain of discarded pig iron.” It arrives with a music video co-directed by actor Tim Blake Nelson and his son Henry Nelson. Watch it below.
Earlier this year, Armand Hammer appeared on the track “Family” from Shapednoise’s album Absurd Matter. woods, meanwhile, recruited Future Islands’ Samuel T. Herring for a track called “FaceTime” that appears on Maps, his collaborative album with producer Kenny Segal that we named one of the best albums of 2023. He also appeared on The Alchemist’s latest EP, Flying High, and is set to appear on Noname’s upcoming album, Sundial.
