Eno is a new documentary that takes an innovative look at the life and career of legendary musician and producer Brian Eno. Captivating audiences when it premiered at Sundance last year, the film is now set to be given its global streaming debut with a special livestream event, 24 Hours of Eno, going down on January 24th at 12:00 p.m. EST. Directed by Greg Hustwit, 24 Hours of Eno is the world’s first ever generative feature film and the first career-spanning documentary on Eno. Hustwit adopted Eno’s creative practices and drew upon hours of never-before-seen footage, unreleased music, and interviews with Eno to assemble a collage; fed through a human-coded generative software co-created by digital artist Brendan Dawes, each showing of 24 Hours of Eno is unique, with billions of combinations between the film’s selection of scenes, their order, and the music underscoring them.
The global livestream event will keep the creative spirit of Eno going by offering a 24-hour film, art, and music experience. There will be multiple unique iterations of the documentary screened throughout the day across all time zones, plus other generative video pieces like “Nothing Can Ever Be the Same” and the Venice Biennale Eno prequel installation by digital artist Brendan Dawes and Hustwit, along with discussions, special guests, and behind-the-scenes footage.
