Pig is leaving Netflix in April

Pig, the critically acclaimed drama starring Nicolas Cage, is set to depart Netflix later this month. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will be removed from the platform on May 26, 2026, marking the end of its current streaming availability.

Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, the film follows Robin “Rob” Feld, a reclusive truffle hunter living alone in the forests of Oregon. His routine is built around a single weekly interaction with Amir, a young intermediary who transports the truffles to Portland. Rob largely avoids social interaction, leading a quiet, isolated life. However, his routine is disrupted when his pig is stolen, an event that forces him to return to Portland, a place connected to his past.

Reluctantly accompanied by Amir, Rob begins searching within the city’s niche culinary circle, knowing that those involved in the trade may have information about the theft. As he tracks down leads, he is forced to confront people and places from his past. The film also stars Alex Wolffas Amir, Adam Arkinas Darius, Nina Belforte as Charlotte, Gretchen Corbettas Mac, and David Knell as Chef Derek Finway, among others.

Upon its release, Pig was widely received with positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds a 97 percent critics’ score based on 272 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, along with an 83 percent audience rating. Collider reported, “Boasting one of the most beautiful final shots of the last decade,Pigis for anyone who has ever yearned for the other side of loss. I think about it at least once a day.”

The film also earned several accolades, including the Independent Spirit Awards, the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards, and the Austin Film Critics Association Awards.
