American Horrors is thrilled to announce that Mat Nastos and the Retro Rewind 80s brand are officially joining the network’s Friday Night Good Time Horror programming lineup. Starting Friday, October 2nd, at approximately 8:30 PM CST (airing immediately after our favorite Lycanthrope), Retro Rewind TV brings its high-energy, nostalgic pop culture machine to the premier horror network. The new broadcast block features the hit horror animated series Meat the Carvers, the tabletop gaming sitcom 12 Sided Die, and the visually stunning Groovey TV, while also blasting directly into the celebrated American Horrors Film Festival.
The partnership brings together two creative forces rooted deeply in the golden eras of horror, comics, and counter-culture. Mat Nastos is the creator and host of Retro Rewind TV, where he celebrates the movies, television, music, comics, and pop culture that shaped Generation X. A former comic book artist, television and film writer, bestselling novelist, and musician, Nastos shares stories and live programming from his unique Retro Rewind Bar with a dedicated community of more than 1.2 million followers across social media platforms.
Expressing his excitement for the new venture, creator and host Mat Nastos said, “I’ve been a fan of Hart Fisher since the early ’90s, when I was a young comic book artist. We share a love of comics, horror, and B-movies, so I’m excited to be part of what he’s building with American Horrors and bring Retro Rewind’s 1.2 million-plus followers along for the ride. It’s a match made in heaven… if heaven had a horror aisle and charged late fees.”
American Horrors head of programming, Hart D. Fisher, is equally enthusiastic about the collaboration and what it means for the network’s expanding audience. “I love Retro Rewind, Mat’s a powerhouse talent that is going to really zest up our Friday Night Good Time Horror programming. He gets American Horrors, we grew up in the same kind of zeitgeist, last of the latchkey wild boys. I think you guys should all run. This chainsaw team up is just getting started and I’m here to tell you, I’m very excited about working with Mat Nastos. This shit is going to rock,” said Fisher.
Fans can tune in every Friday night to catch the wild new programming lineup.
