The release date for Season 3 of David Tennant’s fantasy comedy series, Good Omens, has been announced by Prime Video. Season 1 of the show debuted in May 2019 and went on to become a hit with critics. Apart from Tennant, it features Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm, Doon Mackichan, and many more.
Good Omens hits Prime Video next month
Prime Video recently shared that Season 3 of the popular series, Good Omens, will be available on the release date, May 13.
The streaming platform announced the same via an Instagram post. It included a poster for the third installment, featuring David Tennant’s Crowley and Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale standing opposite each other. The caption read, “It all comes to this.”
Good Omens Season 3 will have only one episode, which will be 90 minutes long. Season 1 of the show came out in 2019, whereas Season 2 dropped on Prime Video in July 2023. In April last year, it was revealed that Season 3 wrapped its filming.
According to a report by Radio Times, David Tennant gave an update regarding the show last year in an interview. He said, “We’re doing Good Omens again. We’re going back to do the final. We’re doing a final. There’s been a slight rejig with the personnel. But we still get to tell that story which I think it would have been very difficult to leave it on a cliffhanger. So I’m glad that’s been worked out.”
Recently, Jon Hamm, who essays Gabriel on the show, also had a chat with the same outlet. He shared whether he would appear in Season 3 of Good Omens. Hamm stated, “That’s a good question! That’s up to people whose paychecks are significantly larger than mine, so I’ll leave that to them, but things ended up very well with Archangel Gabriel. I think he’s found his true love and is floating the universe somewhere. So there’s always a chance that he will re-coalesce in some way, shape, or form. So here’s hoping.”
Created by Neil Gaiman, Good Omens is based on his and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel. It revolves around Aziraphale, an angel who teams up with a demon named Crowley to prevent the world’s end. The series holds an impressive 86 percent Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a 94 percent Popcornmeter rating.
