Shaun White is ready to jump back into the dating pool following his split from fiancée Nina Dobrev.
Us Weekly has learned that White, 39, is “getting back in the dating scene after a very public end to his engagement.”
The Olympic snowboarder was spotted on a date last week in New York City, sparking rumors that he is back on the market.
Us has since learned that the mystery woman White went out with on Friday, May 29, is Angela Garten, a model living in New York City, according to her social media.
White was photographed with Garten on Friday eating at Kiki’s Greek restaurant on the Lower East Side.
The retired athlete was seen wearing a white tank top, black pants and sunglasses, according to pictures obtained by TMZ. Garten, for her part, wore an oversized button-up shirt, jeans and gold hoop earrings with her own pair of large sunglasses.
White’s foray back into the dating pool comes less than nine months after he split from Dobrev, 37.

Us confirmed in September 2025 that White and Dobrev called it quits after five years together, ending their engagement. (The pair got engaged in October 2024.)
“Nina is devastated,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “They had finally started planning the wedding and things were in motion.”
While rumors swirled that infidelity was to blame for the couple’s separation, a source told Us, “No cheating [occurred] at all during the course of their five-and-a-half-year relationship.”
The insider said in September 2025 that both White and Dobrev were “very loyal to each other,” claiming speculation that suggested otherwise was “ridiculous.”

The source explained that the Vampire Diaries alum and White just “grew apart and realized they would be better off just as friends and not husband and wife.”
Both parties have since been spending time with their inner circles, with Dobrev jetsetting around the world with her pals, including a New Year’s Eve trip to St. Barts with Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry.
The following month, Dobrev joked that she had a “new man” in her life, sharing an Instagram Story photo of her cuddling a Doberman named Winston.
“Officially off the market. Sorry boys,” Dobrev teased in February.

White, for his part, sparked romance speculation with model Brooks Nader in November 2025 after photos surfaced of them together outside an Alice + Olivia event in New York.
Nader, 29, exclusively told Us that same month they she and White were not an item. “He was just saying, ‘Hi,’” she shared. “I was still in my car. I didn’t even get out.”
White has since been spotted traveling around the world. He was a fixture at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy in February before spending time in Colorado and later California in April.
