It’s sad, I know, but as much as we’d like the 2026 Winter Olympics to go on forever, filling every gap in our days with adrenaline, this year’s Games are unfortunately coming to a close. By February 22, everyone will be clearing out of Northern Italy, heading back to their respective countries, hopefully with a medal or two in hand. But before the festivities officially end, I thought it would be fun to do a little recap, not of the actual sporting events but of the fashion moments that happened alongside them. After all, as much as I love watching curling, figure skating, hockey, and skiing, I also appreciate a good outfit, and there were plenty of those to go around in Milan and Cortina these last two weeks—starting on day one during the Opening Ceremony.

Vittoria Ceretti’s Opening Ceremony Tribute to Giorgio Armani

As part of a stunning tribute to the late Italian designer Giorgio Armani, who sadly passed away at the age of 91 in September 2025, Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti carried her country’s flag during the Opening Ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics at San Siro Stadium. For the occasion, she wore a custom Armani Privé gown in all white, with long sleeves and a high neck.
Deanna Stellato-Dudek’s Oscar de la Renta Short Program Costume

There’s been a significant amount of buzz surrounding Canadian figure skater Deanna Stellato-Dudek and her costumes, which were custom-designed by none other than the house of Oscar de la Renta. Specifically, Stellato-Dudek had two costumes made by the brand, one red and one gold. According to Skate Canada, this collaboration was made possible by Amanda Desmarais, a Skate Canada board member and frequent Oscar de la Renta shopper. She reached out to the brand for Stellato-Dudek, and after a long wait, they agreed to partner with the skater for the 2025/2026 season, including the 2026 Winter Games.
Her short program dress is hand-beaded with cap sleeves and a mock neckline. It features a gold pattern that almost looks like scales that shimmer when she’s on the ice. For her free skate costume, the brand designed a bright-red, one-shoulder frock that was meant to mimic Stellato-Dudek’s “fearless approach to skating,” according to Skate Canada.
Madison Chock’s Updated Matador Costume

Madison Chock isn’t just a figure skater with multiple Olympic medals and a record number of national titles under her belt. She’s also a costume designer, both for herself and her husband slash skating partner, Evan Bates, as well as others, including Team Georgia, Team Spain, and Team Australia. For the 2026 Winter Games, she made subtle but profound tweaks to both their free dance and rhythm dance ensembles, with the free dance update, in particular, garnering much acclaim. The skirt, which she added red accents to, was especially noteworthy. “We feel the addition of red really suits the story and characters we have created, and more warmth and fiery passion are reflected in our characters and choreography as the beast and the matador,” she told Who What Wear ahead of the Games.
Amal Clooney Wearing Balmain in Milan

Early on in the Games, part-time Italian residents George and Amal Clooney (the couple owns and often lives in Villa Oleandra, located in Lake Como) attended the Omega House opening night, with the latter donning a stunning black, strapless gown by Balmain, from the French brand’s F/W 02 Haute Couture collection. With the ruffled dress, she donned black pumps and a matching clutch, keeping things elegant and sophisticated, just like her surroundings in Milan.
Ilia Malinin’s Short Program Costume by Ito Satomi

Fans of retired Japanese skater Yuzuru Hanyu’s costumes will be happy to find out that the designer behind them, Ito Satomi, returned to the rink for the 2026 Winter Games, this time designing costumes for the “quad god,” otherwise known as American figure skater Ilia Malinin. People especially loved Malinin’s short program costume, The Lost Crown, with its fantastical aesthetic and deep connection to his routine. The other costume, A Voice, was just as detailed and intentional.
The Carlson Sisters Take On the Winter Games With Ralph Lauren

Ahead of the Opening Ceremony, Team USA’s official outfitter, Ralph Lauren, hosted an event at Palazzo Ralph Lauren in Milan, inviting friends of the brand to celebrate the momentous occasion before them. Two such guests were Devon Lee Carlson and Sydney Carlson, who attended the evening’s festivities wearing matching black looks, Devon Lee donning a satin car coat, jeans, and black pumps, and her sister choosing an embroidered jacket, black trousers, and leather boots. Both carried Ralph Lauren handbags.
