Aubry Bracco, the winner of Survivor 50, responded to claims made by runner-up Jonathan Young. Since the season concluded, Young has repeatedly stated that he believes he did enough to win. He has also questioned whether Bracco’s game was more deserving of the victory and the prize money.
In a Saturday Instagram Q&A, Bracco shared her perspective on the situation and expressed sympathy for Young.
“Jonathan was hurting in that moment. It is devastating to learn that you lost,” said Bracco, who had previously competed on Survivor multiple times before winning Survivor 50. “We all handle it differently, and something that I’ve come to believe over the four times I played Survivor is that your opinion of me is none of my business. It has nothing to do with me,” Bracco continued.
“I do my best in the game, I play the game I’m gonna play, and you’re gonna have feelings on it,” she added.
Meanwhile, Young has maintained that he played a stronger game and deserved to win the season.
Bracco admitted it was “a little hard” to see Young criticize her. “I really genuinely, I hope he’s doing okay,” she said. “I disagree with him, but he’s allowed to have his opinion. It is what it is. I don’t like that saying, but I’m confident in the game that I played.”
In the Survivor 50 finale, Young received three jury votes, while Bracco received the remaining eight. Joe Hunter did not receive any votes. As a result, Bracco secured a clear victory. However, discussion surrounding the outcome continues among fans.
