HBOMax is going through a lot of changes at the moment. However, their list of genre offerings is still pretty spectacular. They have possibly the most unique mix of movies for horror fiends of any popular streamer. This is why their charts are always a pleasant surprise. Their #1 thriller this week is Knowing.
In the film, M.I.T. professor John Koestler links a mysterious list of numbers from a time capsule to past and future disasters and sets out to prevent the ultimate catastrophe.

Knowing was directed by Alex Proyas. It was written by Ryne Douglas Pearson, Juliet Snowden and stars Nicolas Cage, Chandler Canterbury, Rose Byrne, and Liam Hemsworth.
Many fans are happy to see it on HBOMax and are using this momentum to remind people of all the things they love about the film. They are also here to continue celebrating the magnificence that is Nicolas Cage in a disaster movie.

Today is the tenth anniversary of the Alex Proyas mystery thriller #Knowing starring Nicolas Cage a movie that for whatever reason I really enjoy. Is it the wackiness of the lead star? Maybe. It honestly might be the downer ending of the film because it totally surprised me. pic.twitter.com/saftBVJ70A

I have kept this a secret for 9 years, but it’s time I tell the world. I’ve been scared because I just don’t know how my friends and family will react.
I liked the movie ‘Knowing’ starring Nicolas Cage. I mean yeah it went off the rails but that’s what makes it great. #Knowing— Andrew Lynch (@URAMean1MrLynch) May 2, 2018

We are always happy for an excuse to get an extra dose of the Cagester. Who needs coffee when Nick is out there keeping us on our toes and making us feel alive?
It also seems like a perfectly good apocalypse film to distract us from everything else. If this movie slipped under your radar, check out the trailer below.
