Trisha Yearwood is calling on her community to help celebrate a milestone close to her heart. The country music legend launched a birthday fundraiser for Dottie’s Yard, the animal welfare fund she founded, with a goal of raising $25,000 for local animal shelters across the country.
Dottie’s Yard turns five this year. Yearwood marked the occasion with a warm appeal on Instagram, appearing alongside her three dogs. Her caption was genuine and direct. “Life is so much better with them in it,” she wrote, then asked followers to help her reach the fundraising goal. “We are celebrating by raising 25,000 to go straight to local shelters,” she added. “Me and the trio thank you in advance.”
The fundraiser runs through Community First Mutual Trust (CFMT). Donations can be made at cfmt.org/funds/dotties/ or through the link in Yearwood’s Instagram bio. She flagged that address in her caption as well. Anyone experiencing trouble donating through Instagram can head there directly. It’s a practical touch. Third-party donation links on Instagram don’t always behave the way you’d expect.
Animal welfare has been a clear priority for Yearwood over the years. Dottie’s Yard was built to get money directly to the shelters doing the hands-on work. Smaller, community-run shelters often don’t have much of a fundraising structure behind them. This kind of campaign gives them access to support they’d otherwise have to chase on their own. A $25,000 goal spread across a dedicated fanbase is a realistic target. For individual shelters, that kind of funding can cover a lot of ground. Think months of food, vet supplies, and adoption events.
The fund has spent five years directing that support. This anniversary campaign is a chance for Yearwood to bring new donors into the fold. Her personal connection to the cause is obvious – she showed up for the announcement with all three of her dogs in frame. She’s not the type to let a milestone pass quietly.
For anyone less familiar with her story, Yearwood is one of country music’s most enduring voices. She broke through in 1991 with “She’s in Love with the Boy.” That debut single went straight to number one on the Billboard country charts. She’s a Grammy winner with a discography spanning more than three decades. She also spent years hosting “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” on Food Network. That show put her warmth and Southern roots on full display. It also built her a second audience well beyond country radio.
Fans responded warmly to the fundraising post, filling the comments with stories about their own rescue animals and encouraging others to give.
Five years is a real thing to celebrate. Yearwood is doing it the way she tends to do most things – by making it about something bigger than herself. This is a good cause to get behind.
