Diego’s friend, Aldo, is fascinated by military life and wants to enroll in the Spanish Army. In order to get into the army’s good books, he betrays his father and his own people by revealing to Lieutenant Gabriel the place where the rebels have hidden large quantities of dynamite. The Lieutenant is not satisfied, and orders Aldo to locate Zorro’s hideout. Diego finds out about the Lieutenant’s request, and sets a trap for Aldo and the Spanish soldiers. The Lieutenant blames Aldo for the defeat, and kicks him out of the army. Aldo goes home and begs his father’s forgiveness.
