Kidman requested to be the “primary residential parent” of the couple’s two daughters. She also submitted a marital dissolution agreement that both she and the country singer had signed, according to court documents obtained by Us.
Kidman previously said that she and Urban were “always working through stuff,” in a 2021 interview which resurfaced following their split. “It’s very much love-based, so there’s an enormous amount of give and take. In the wake of the divorce filing, Urban faced scrutiny from fans who began diving into his song lyrics. In October 2025, Urban had a message to fans before singing his 2002 hit “You’ll Think of Me.”
“I’ve been covering like this for a long time. Stop reading s*** into it,” he said.
He also changed the lyrics to his 2016 song “The Fighter” while performing with utility player Maggie Baugh during a September 2025 performance.
