Lizzo Sparks Controversy With Bizarre AI Halloween Book Cover Post | Celebrity Insider

To kick off Halloween, Lizzo generated a massive buzz on social media with her bizarre and AI-generated images that presented her on the covers of fictitious serious novels. Moreover, she accompanied the photos with a remark about a “hellish baby daddy” which definitely left many of her fans in confusion and led them to voice their concerns about her using AI so much.

The fearless and unapologetic Lizzo has definitely shocked the public opinion with her latest move. She displayed the AI-looked children’s picture books as a part of her post on social media. Among the very dramatic titles were “My Baby Daddy Is A Labubu From Hell” and “Dre’Cula” etc. Lizzo, however, didn’t seem interested in the horror genre only, as she also tagged author Quan Millz and wrote to him, “HELP YALL! MY BABY DADDY IS A LABUBU FROM HELL😳 @quanmillzbooks let Halloween mess began 😭.” Thus, the post immediately grabbed a lot of attention and criticism with the majority of people concerned about the AI usage instead of Halloween theme.

The audience reaction was rapid and largely negative. There were many comments from the viewers expressing their discontent that Lizzo would still prefer AI through this high-tech channel, the one that has been around for so long and has been given so much. Somebody criticized Lizzo saying “11.6m followers but u have to resort to ai? lol.” This led to a heated argument in the replies about the telltale signs of AI generation with the baby image being most mentioned due to its distorted anatomy and jewelry. A user posted, “Lizzo……….girl please don’t be using AI,” saying that the user did not want it to be a sign of a real project and was perplexed why a star cannot just hire a nice photographer to do a real photoshoot.

The humor and cultural commentary aspect of the discussion was quick to spread out. Many users made an instant link between the exaggerated, dramatic appearance of the fake covers and a very particular niche of self-published books. One user jokingly stated that “These look like the ghetto novels sold at the hair salon and someone’s uncles Uber 😂.” Thus, the comment became the point of more laughter from the others who agreed that the style was indeed associated with real authors like Quan Millz. Another user wondered, “Will Quan be selling signed copies of these on the TikTok shop?” referring to the popular selling methods that such authors have adopted.

There were, nonetheless, some users who had a more critical viewpoint on Lizzo’s current path in the music world. One person said, “Fell from grace celebrities have a hobby that isn’t making shitty AI art challenge level: IMPOSSIBLE,” thereby implying that the post is an indication of a decline in a celebrity’s profile. The criticism was very blunt and one user remarked, “Imagine using your nearly 12m followed platform to make shitty AI covers… Embarrassing.” Yet, it was not only negative but also some followers who found the post funny, one characterized it as, “This might be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen😂,” while another one simply said, “I love this so much.”

The post also caught many unprepared who were not aware of the works of Quan Millz. One user, to name a few, pointed out, “People are commenting AI but never seen a quanmillz book cover 😩,” suggesting that the strange style was deliberately imitating a genre that already existed. Another user wrote “@lizzobeeating I’ve been wanting to buy some of his books,” which demonstrates that the post was indeed helpful for the author whose name came up.

It’s clear that Lizzo’s forays into AI-generated content have provoked a very mixed reaction. By doing so, she brought the celebrity spotlight on the issue of ethics in AI, which is the very domain where artists are already strongly divided. The mixed replies—from those who were angry to those who found it hilarious—showed the bifurcating nature of the technology. While some saw it as nothing more than a fun, quirky Halloween prank, others viewed it as the misuse of a controversial tool that was lazy and out of touch. This case shows that even for stars, a post that seems to be playful may still be used to test the prevailing cultural attitudes. Lizzo’s Halloween “mess” certainly ignited discussions, even if the debates were not precisely the ones that she had in mind. Her recent flute cover showcased her musical talent in a different way. This follows her powerful new song snippet where she urged fans to protect their peace. The artist also recently launched revolutionary stretchy fit fabric for her Yitty collection. Additionally, she has been known to debate her cover photo choices with fans having strong opinions.
