Clint Eastwoods Son Reveals Major News on Dad, 96

Clint Eastwood‘s son, Kyle Eastwood, revealed a major update on his dad: The iconic actor and director is officially retired.

“I have many fond memories of working with him. Now he’s retired, he’s 95 years old,” Kyle told the French outlet France 3 in November, per The Independent.

Clint, who turned 96 on May 31, collaborated with his son for the films Million Dollar Baby (2004), Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), Gran Torino (2008), and Invictus (2009).

“I was very lucky to be able to work with him on quite a few films,” Kyle, 58, a film composer and jazz musician, added. “It was a great experience for me.”

Clint’s last onscreen appearance was in 2021’s Cry Macho, while his final film as a director was 2024’s Juror #2, starring Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette.

Acting-wise, Clint rose to fame in Sergio Leone‘s spaghetti westerns, including the Dollars trilogy. He portrayed “Man with No Name” in A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). Clint went on to play Inspector Harry Callahan in Dirty Harry (1971) and its sequels. He also had memorable acting credits in Escape From Alcatraz (1979), The Bridges of Madison County (1995), Million Dollar Baby, and countless other films.

For directing, Clint won two Oscars each (Best Director and Best Picture) for Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven (1992). Other notable directing credits include High Plains Drifter (1973), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Mystic River (2003), American Sniper (2014), and Sully (2016), among others.

In addition to Kyle, Clint is the father of seven kids: daughters, Laurie, Kimber, Kathryn, Morgan, Alison Eastwood (an actress, director, and producer), Francesca Eastwood (also an actress), and a son, actor Scott Eastwood.
