As a fashion editor who loves to shop, I’m constantly drafting wish lists, be it cult spring buys primed to freshen my rotation, low-key luxury finds that have captured my heart or, of course, the best of the high street. This season, my high-street list is particularly extensive. From sleek stovepipe jeans to trending tassel accessories and some of the best blouses I’ve seen in seasons, so many high-street stores are filled with pieces poised to elevate my seasonal wardrobe, and this week, H&M has been top of the list.

With so many elevated offerings at affordable prices, we’re truly spoilt for choice. From polished tops to fluid skirts and some of the most luxe-looking dresses around, its shelves are stocked with chic pieces ready to take your outfits from simple to standout in seconds, without breaking the bank. At this point in the month, my wish list was nearing excessive, so I did what any reasonable editor would do and queried some of fashion’s sharpest, most stylish minds to see what would make their edit.
Shopping editor Florrie Alexander is eyeing up the soft and sleek linen pieces, whilst fashion editor Remy Farrell has her eyes on a sophisticated boat-neck, long-sleeved top, and deputy editor Rebecca Rhys-Evans (ever the edgy dresser) can’t get a particular red technical jacket out of her head.
Oh, and if you’re looking for denim, senior shopping editor Marina Avraam is all in on the wide-leg jeans offering. As for me, well, it’s a whimsical pink minidress topping my list. So, after collating our favourite finds, I’ve created a list of the pieces we’re honing in on this spring. Scroll to discover what made the cut.
1. Florrie Alexander
“I tried on this dress last week and can confirm it skims the body beautifully, thanks to the elasticated panel at the back. Simply throw it on, slip on some sandals and grab a basket bag for an instantly polished warm-weather look.”
“I’m trying to emulate the ease that French women consistently exude in spring, so I’ve been searching for a pretty blouse to take my jeans and tailoring to new heights. As always, H&M has nailed it with this sleek, lightweight style that is intricately crafted to give the illusion of a high-end buy without the price tag.”

Wide Linen-Blend Trousers
“The warm weather has arrived, and whilst we may still see a few dips in temperature, the heat is on its way. In preparation, I’ve hunted down a pair of comfortable linen-blend trousers which will be a breezy saving grace on the hottest days.”

Knitted Boat-Neck Top
“It might not look like much, but this black knit should be considered anything but basic. Everyone has a white T-shirt in their wardrobes, but a long-sleeved top is just as important, and a sheer knit ticks every box (especially in spring weather that can’t make up its mind).”
“Now that I’m officially thought of as the office’s resident sandal wearer (yes, all year round), it’s about time I added something new to my roster. I immediately stopped scrolling when I saw these leopard flip-flops. They’re exactly the kind of shoe I’d wear now with an oversized shirt and capri trousers, and throughout summer with a little white dress.”
“And speaking of white dresses, any style that you can throw on and go scores highly in my book, and this flared-skirt dress will come in handy over the summer months. No fuss, no busy prints; just a well-crafted dress with a simple silhouette that you can dress down with ballet flats or style up with a strappy heel and a big clutch.”

Tie-Detail Broderie Anglaise Jacket
“There’s something undeniably elegant about the simplicity of a white blouse, jeans and ballet flats. This broderie anglaise style, with its delicate detailing and tie-front finish, elevates the entire look, making it feel far more expensive than it is.”
“Whilst the temperature is slowly climbing, this oversized funnel-neck jacket in a soft, napped finish is the perfect in-between layer for cooler evenings.”

Wide High Waist Jeans
“I already own H&M’s best-selling wide-leg jeans in blue, but there’s something about this ecru shade that feels especially polished. I’ll be pairing them with lightweight knits now, and switching to a simple tank and sandals as the weather warms up.”

Lace-Trimmed Slip Dress
There’s nothing I love more than a floaty mini in summer to lift my mood. Colour-blocked in a pretty pink hue, this draped dress will be great layered over a pair of jeans and worn with ballet flats or loafers; it can be dressed up or down with ease. The fact that Iris Law loves it is a bonus.

Leather Bermuda Shorts
Consider me Bermuda-shorts obsessed, because somehow, in the last few months, I’ve accumulated three pairs, and this soft leather iteration will be my next buy. Providing a cooler finish than your tried-and-true denim shorts, these will instantly make a look. Pair them with a funnel-neck windbreaker or a pirate-collar blouse; either way, they add just enough edge without looking like you’re trying too hard.

Cape-Detail Chiffon Blouse
I recently discovered that I actually don’t own many tops. Sure, baby tees and simple white basic layers prop up my wardrobe, but a sophisticated blouse to elevate my staple jeans-and-a-nice-top looks? Nil. With cape blouses trending, this top instantly caught my eye. Easy enough to dress up yet still feel relaxed, when I spotted it on the website, I instantly purchased it.

Oversized Nylon Popover Jacket
“I live for a windbreaker jacket, especially a pullover style like this. I’m not usually one for colour, but this burnt-orange hue is surprisingly chic and looks much more expensive than it is. Sure, you can throw this on to and from the gym, but I think I’ll be wearing it everywhere whilst there’s still a chill in the air.”
“I wear my capri pants a few times a week from April to October, so I’m always in the market for a new pair. These with the windbreaker and some heeled thong sandals? Stunning.”

Crochet-Look Hole-Knit Top
Maybe I’m inspired by the fact it’s Coachella this month, maybe it’s this momentary heatwave in London, but I’m really in the mood for some crochet pieces this summer. I think with light wash baggy wide jeans, or with Bermuda shorts when the heat isn’t so fleeting, this top will be hella cute!
