The 34th annual Contessa Canadian Hairstylist of the Year Awards return for an evening of celebration

After a tumultuous stretch of salon lockdowns and virtual beauty events, the 34th Contessa Awards has announced its return to an IRL gala. Known as the largest, longest-running and most prestigious beauty competition in Canada, the awards feature 24 categories that celebrate and unite leading beauty professionals from coast to coast. From vibrant creations by the best colourists to boundary-pushing hairstyles that look more like art than hair, there’s no shortage of talent in the industry. See the list of finalists here, or partake in the award festivities on November 20 at The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto.
Lush releases two Stranger Things-themed bath bombs

Stranger Things Day is an annual celebration (on November 6) that commemorates when Stranger Things fictional character Will Byers first went missing. To salute the fandom, cruelty-free beauty brand Lush partnered with Netflix’s popular sci-fi thriller on two limited-edition bath bombs. Sold as a set and named The Hellfire Bathing Duo, the gift box includes one bath bomb that replicates the eight-sided dice used to play Dungeons and Dragons (IYKYK), and another that resembles a fury of flames bubbling beneath a black surface. So, while awaiting the fifth and final season (release date TBA) of the Duffer brothers’ drama, there’s some niche R&R to be done.
