Barbie has grossed $1.3 billion globally and will soon pass The Super Mario Bros. Movie at the global box office, which earned $1.35 billion. Barbie received the most commercially successful opening weekend of the year, becoming the highest-grossing film directed solely by a woman.
It also recently passed Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight as the highest-grossing domestic release in Warner Bros.’ history.
