A Soul of Ash and Blood: A Blood and Ash Novel, Blood And Ash Series (Blue Box Press) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Dear readers,
Brace yourselves…
Like, seriously, strap on your seat belts and place your tray tables in their upright and locked positions. Because Casteel is ready to tell you everything.
When I started writing A Soul of Ash and Blood, I thought it would be a simple retelling of From Blood and Ash Hawke/Casteel’s point of view. Oh, how wrong I was. I soon learned that our Atlantian Prince had other ideas. Really great ones. And he insisted I start the book at the moment The War of Two Queens ended. Yep, you read that right. We’re going to explore the past and the present with new insights, heartbreaking moments, shocking reveals, and a side of Cas we’ve never seen before.
While in his head, one of the most special things I learned was that Cas battles with his inner demons in much the same way many of us do. His struggle is real — and poignant — and it was really important to me to capture that side of him and how he’s been dealing with his past trauma.
Plus, telling the story from his POV shows us how complicated his and Poppy’s love story truly is and just how hard he fell for her. Not to mention when…and why. And the ending? You guys are not ready for this.
I really hope you love reading A Soul of Ash and Blood as much as I enjoyed writing it.
xoxo,
JLA
