I’m sometimes asked why I write a thriller series as opposed to standalone novels or a different genre. I could just as easily be asked why I’m drawn to thrillers as a reader; the answer is the same for both. A standout thriller takes us on a pulse-pounding ride with high stakes, plenty of twists and turns, and a satisfying ending—it’s fun! The most appealing aspect of a good book is a cast of engaging, compelling characters who elevate the story to a level of universal human experience. I’m partial to highly relatable characters who are suddenly thrust into extraordinary circumstances. How they meet these life-altering challenges presents endless opportunities for authors to explore what makes their characters tick. Reading an outstanding thriller is exciting! What’s not to like about that?
Bidding farewell to characters I’ve grown attached to by the end of a good book is a bittersweet experience. If the novel is part of a series, this is thankfully followed by the joy of welcoming them back when I crack open the cover to dive into their next adventure. Isn’t it remarkable how we relate to book characters and happily immerse ourselves in their fictional worlds? Books are truly magical that way.
As an author, it is incredibly gratifying to hear from readers as they progress through my Tony Valenti thriller series—sharing their thoughts on the stories and characters, what portions of the novels they enjoyed the most and how they connected with the characters. To everyone who has done so, thank you so much! If you haven’t begun your journey with Tony and friends, the series now totals six books with the recent release of The Secrets She Buried. It is currently available at a new-release discount, or you can read it and the rest of the series with your Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Happy reading!
