Eva Mendes is just as excited for “Barbie” as the rest of us. On May 15, the actor showed off her new merch inspired by the upcoming Greta Gerwig film: a T-shirt with Ryan Gosling’s Ken plastered across the front. “Got that real big Kenergy. Coz girls is players too,” she captioned her Instagram post. The white shirt features a photo of her longtime partner with bleach-blond hair and his spray-tanned abs on full display in a denim vest. She rolled the sleeves and paired it with light-wash jeans before posing in front of a wooden fence.
Mendes has been Gosling’s biggest cheerleader since he landed the role of Ken. When first-look photos from the movie dropped last summer, she shared Gosling’s on Instagram (the same shot from her T-shirt) and wrote, “So. F. Funny. So. F. Good. So F excited for you to see this…#Thatsmyken.” The following month, Gosling mentioned Mendes’s social media shoutout during a BBC talk show interview, sharing, “She’s been very supportive. She’s supporting my Kenergy. She started a hashtag, #Thatsmyken, which meant a lot to me.” Mendes recently disclosed that she won’t be joining Gosling on the red carpet during his “Barbie” press tour to avoid “exposing our very private life that we value.”
Red carpet absences aside, fans clearly can’t get enough of Mendes’s “Barbie” T-shirt. The comments section of her Instagram post has been flooded with inquiries about where she scored the piece, with one follower writing, “Girl you can’t just post a glorious shirt then not say where to buy it!” and another adding, “respectfully i NEED this top.” It appears that Mendes scored it from Redbubble, just like the “From Director Greta Gerwig” tee Gosling wore at CinemaCon — perhaps the couple had their own shopping spree on the website? The exact shirt is in stock online for less than $25, along with several other shirt styles and colors. Shop them ahead before “Barbie” hits theaters this July.
