Cue the nostalgia, because Kristin Cavallari’s newest jewelry collection is giving us all the “Laguna Beach” flashbacks. On April 13, the designer and television personality announced the launch of her “Back to Laguna” jewelry line through her brand, Uncommon James. Cavallari shared the news with a commercial featuring several of her former costars, including Talan Torriero, Alex Murrel, Jason Wahler, Alex Hooser, and Jessica Smith. Cavallari’s ex-boyfriend, Stephen Colletti, also made a surprise appearance to help promote the new line.
The “Back to Laguna” collection is made up of delicate, minimalist pieces that look right at home given Uncommon James’s affinity for “timeless, effortless and sophisticated jewelry.” What makes this particular launch so special is the nostalgia factor, with throwback accessories like black cord chokers, rainbow beaded anklets, and chunky pink earrings that emanate true Y2K energy. Fans will also find angel numbers, bejeweled cross necklaces, and lots of stackable options for a look worthy of the early aughts.
With “Laguna Beach” filming at the height of the Y2K movement, there’s few people better equipped to give the trend a modern twist. While you’ll still see the bright colors and sparkly touches associated with the Y2K aesthetic, Cavallari’s version is a bit more grown-up, with gold hardware, simplistic designs, and high-quality materials.
