“Danny Trejo was the other headliner. We wanted a picture and autograph but only had $10, so we waited for a group picture. He was very friendly and, after the photo, asked what we wanted signed. We apologized and told him we were broke but were big fans and happy to get a picture. He then took the $10 we paid for the picture, returned it to us, and signed two Machete posters for us. He was so sweet and seemed to love interacting with everyone.”
“Someone I used to be friends with lived in the valley north of Hollywood. On a hot summer day, there was a knock on the door, and there was Danny and two friends, one holding an AC window unit.
Trejo and his pals were sitting around, and someone mentioned their grandmother or aunt’s AC died, so they went out, bought an AC unit, and then drove over to install it. Danny asked politely if the woman was home, but they had the wrong house. They had the correct number but were in the wrong street. They thanked the dude, then went to the correct street.”
