Sarah Michelle Gellar won’t be allowing her children to use social media any time soon.
In fact, Sarah and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. say that their kids, 13-year-old Charlotte and 10-year-old Rocky, are barely even allowed to look at social media.
“Our rules are probably stricter than most. Our kids don’t have social media,” Sarah recently told Yahoo Life’s So Mini Ways.
She added that the kids are “allowed to look sometimes,” but only when it’s her or Freddie’s phone.
“Sometimes, our kids will be like, ‘You guys are the strictest household!’ But I say, ‘Yes, but everyone still wants to come here!'” Sarah shared.
Sarah says that allowing young children to use social media is like letting a 5-year-old get a Paw Patrol tattoo on their face.
“Because at that age, there’s nothing better than Paw Patrol. And now, you’re 10 and [13], and you still have these tattoos on your face, and it’s not even who you are anymore,” Sarah explained.
She continued, “That’s a very hard concept for young kids to grasp. I believe kids need to know what their limitations are, and they actually thrive in that environment.”
And while Sarah says she and Freddie aren’t mean and “not unnecessarily strict,” they do have rules.
“The same way I abide by my code of rules, I expect the same from our children,” Sarah concluded.
