Grammys 2022: All of the Performances

The 2022 Grammy Awards took place last night (April 3) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Trevor Noah hosted the ceremony for the second year in a row. Among the many performers were Billie Eilish, BTS, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Olivia Rodrigo, and Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic. Allison Russell

Canadian artist, author, and activist Allison Russell scored Best Americana Album nomination for her album Outside Child, as well as two nominations for the single “Nightflyer.” She performed the track during the Premiere Ceremony, but did not take home any awards.

Aymée Nuviola

The Cuban singer, pianist, and composer was nominated for Best Tropical Latin Album, eventually losing to Rubén Blades y Roberto Delgado & Orquesta. She played “The Cold Drop.”

Billie Eilish

Following her two Grammy wins last year, Eilish was nominated in seven categories this year but wound up being shut out. During the show, she performed the title track from Happier Than Ever.

Billy Strings

Bluegrass artist Billy Strings took the Grammys stage to perform “Hide and Seek” from his 2021 LP Renewal, which lost to Béla Fleck in the Best Bluegrass album category.

Brandi Carlile

Last year, the Highwomen—Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Amanda Shires, and Natalie Hemby—took home the Best Country Song trophy for their track “Crowded Table.” This year, Carlile returned to perform “Right on Time.” She was up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year (for “Right on Time” and her Alicia Keys collaboration “A Beautiful Noise”), Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best American Roots Performance, but went home empty-handed.

Brothers Osborne

Country act Brothers Osborne last performed at the Grammys in 2018, during a tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting that took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in October 2017. This year, the duo was nominated for Best Country Album, which it lost to Chris Stapleton, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, which it won with “Younger Me.” They closed out the ceremony with “Dead Man’s Curve.”

BTS

Last year, the K-pop superstars gave a dazzling performance of their single “Dynamite.” Last night, performing “Butter” (nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance), the band diffused into the crowd, with V delighting Olivia Rodrigo by producing a card from behind her ear. 

Carrie Underwood

Country singer Carrie Underwood was in the running for two accolades: My Savior, for Best Roots Gospel Album, and “If I Didn’t Love You,” her single with Jason Aldean, for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. She won the former category and performed “Ghost Story” from the record. 

Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton won all three categories in which he was nominated, with Starting Over taking Best Country Album, “Cold” winning Best Song (watch him perform that one below), and “You Should Probably Leave” landing Best Country Solo Performance.

Curtis Stewart

Violinist Curtis Stewart did not end up winning Best Classical Instrumental Solo, but he got a chance to perform “Isn’t She Lovely” during the Premiere Ceremony.
