10 Hidden Horror Gems Perfect For Halloween Parties [Video]
Halloween Bad Candy

We’re ten days out from Halloween and we know you’re making those movie marathon lists. Creating a horror movie marathon is an art, and should balance scares with comedy and a little bit of fun to cater to all viewers. So, with that in mind, we’ve gathered ten of Dread and Epic Pictures’ movies that are streaming now that you should definitely add to the watchlist.

Terrifier

If you’re looking for something bloody, mean, and nasty to watch this Halloween, look no further than Terrifier. Art the Clown goes on a violent rampage on Halloween night and splits people in half. Literally. Gorehounds, you need to put this in the horror marathon rotation.

Bad Candy

Starring Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Bad Candy is a horror anthology narrated by two radio DJs. Each segment sees a member of their town, New Salem, meeting a grisly end.

Tales of Halloween

We have another horror anthology, this time featuring ten iconic genre filmmakers such as Neil Marshall (The Descent), Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW 2,3,4), Lucky McKee (The Woman), and Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!). It’s full of ghosts, ghouls, and more!

Candy Corn

It’s the eve of Halloween in Grove Hill, Ohio. A traveling carnival is in town for the weekend and local outcast, Jacob Atkins, has been hired as one of the freaks in the event’s main attraction, “Dr. Death’s Side Show Spook House Spectacular.” When a group of bullies targets Jacob for their annual hazing, things go too far and he winds up dead. Now, Dr. Death has resurrected Jacob as an unstoppable killer to seek revenge on those who wronged him.

JeruZalem

This one’s for the found footage lovers out there. Two American girls on vacation follow a mysterious and handsome anthropology student on a trip to Jerusalem. The party is cut short when the trio is caught in the middle of a biblical apocalypse. It’s told entirely through Google Glass, which allows for some really interesting experiments with form and POV.

The Swerve

Ok, so The Swerve is definitely a downer. It’s not your conventional horror film with spooky monsters or menacing ghosts. Here, the monster is depression and it’s a mean one. The film follows school teacher Holly who seems like she has it all. But really, she’s spiraling further and further out of control. And the ending will leave your jaw on the floor.

Benny Loves You

No Halloween is complete without a killer doll. And we think you should spend it with Benny. After the accidental death of his parents, Jack’s comfortable lifestyle comes to an end and he must sell his family home. Desperate to improve his life, Jack throws out his childhood belongings including his beloved plush, Benny. It’s a move that has disastrous consequences when Benny springs to life with deadly intentions!

Uncle Peckerhead

If you love gore and punk rock, then put Uncle Peckerhead on your Halloween watchlist immediately. When a punk band scores their first tour, life on the road proves tough when they are joined by a man-eating demon as a roadie.

Hoax

Cryptids and found footage are two of my personal horror sweet spots, so of course, I need to give some love to the Bigfoot film Hoax. An investigative team travels deep into the wilderness after a group of young campers is viciously murdered and linked to Bigfoot. The highly specialized crew searches for evidence and fights to survive the powerful beast. If they work together they may live to prove the existence of bigfoot, but what they discover may be more unexpected and dangerous than anything they could have imagined.

Midnight

Korean serial killer movies are another breed of depraved. That’s why they’re the perfect addition to a Halloween movie watchlist. In Midnight, fear grips the country of South Korea as a serial killer (Squid Game star Wi Ha-Jun) stalks its residents. Kyung-mi, a deaf woman, is out late with her mother when she stumbles upon a young woman bleeding out in a dark alley. Now a witness to the killer’s brutal crime, Kyung-mi is being ruthlessly hunted down. Will she survive or become his victim?
