A fantastic true crime documentary hit Netflix earlier this summer but failed to make much of a splash. Now viewers are finding My Daughter’s Killer, and the reactions are glowing. In the doc, a father fights for decades to bring his daughter’s killer to justice in France and Germany before taking extreme measures.
The real-life murder of Kalinka Bamberski resulted in a criminal case that spanned three decades and stirred up a ton of press in both France and Germany. In 1982 the French teenager died under the care of her German stepfather Dieter Krombach, a known rapist and former doctor. Kalinka’s father André Bamberski pressured German authorities to charge the ex-physician with murder, but the case was eventually closed. As justice was clearly underserved, Bamerski’s father took the law into his own hands in order to have the killer of his child expedited to France to face trial.
My Daughter’s Killer looks to be the very first full-length film from director Antoine Tassin. Fans of the upsetting Netflix original documentary have made their voices heard on Twitter, calling the doc ‘incredible’ and ‘shocking’. See some of the response to the film here:

My daughter’s killer on Netflix, absolutely amazing, but as hard to watch as the girl in the picture. Kalinkas dad and his helpers are amazing.
